  1. Rules

    1. The regatta will be governed by the »rules« as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing.
    2. The following rules of Jadralna zveza Slovenije (Slovenian Sailing Federation) will apply:
    3. Yachts racing in the MIPCPHRF handicap class will also comply with the MIPCPHRF handicap rules.
  2. Notices to competitors

    Notices to competitors will be posted on the official notice board located at the Regatta Office in the Regatta tent in Marina Izola.

  3. Changes to sailing instructions

    Any change to the sailing instructions will be posted before 11:00 on the day it will take effect.

  4. Signals made ashore

    Signals made ashore will be displayed at the post at the Regatta tent except flag »AP« () which will be displayed at the race committee boat.

  5. Schedule of Races

    The number of races scheduled is 2.
    The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race is at 11:55.
    The scheduled time of the warning signal for the second race is one minute after the completion of the first race.

  6. Class flags

    All classes' flag will be the YC MIPC flag ().

  7. Racing area

    Racing area will be near the town of Izola and will depend on the wind direction.

  8. The Courses

    The diagram shows courses which will both be windward-leeward courses. No later than the warning signal, the race committee signal boat will display the approximate compass bearing from start to Mark 1.
    Marks 1, 2 and 3 will be left to port.
    Yachts shall sail two laps around the course.
    The distance between the start and Mark1 should be somewhere between 1 and 1.5 miles depending on the wind strength.

  9. Marks

    1. Marks 1, 2 and 3 will be orange cylindrical buoys.
    2. The starting marks will be a race committee boat (RC) on the right and orange buoy on the left.
    3. The finishing marks will be a race committee boat (RC) on the left and orange buoy on the right.
  10. The Start

    1. Races will be started by using rule 26 with the warning signal given 5 minutes before the starting signal.

    4. The starting line will be between a staff displaying orange flag on the right starting mark (RC boat) and the left starting mark.
    5. A boat starting later than 10 minutes after her starting signal will be scored Did Not Start. This changes rule A4.1.
  11. The Finish

    The finishing line will be between the staff displaying orange flag on the left finishing mark (RC boat) and the right finishing mark.

  12. Time limits

    Time limit for each race is 2:30 hours after the starting signal.

  13. Protests and requests for redress

    1. Protest forms are available at the race office. Protests shall be delivered there within the protest time limit.
    2. The protest time limit for each boat is 60 minutes after the protesting boat has finished the last race of the day.
    3. Notices will be posted within 60 minutes of the protest time limit to inform competitors of hearings in which they are parties or named as witnesses. Hearings will be held in the jury office.
    4. Notices of protests by the race committee will be posted to inform boats under rule 61.(b).
  14. Scoring

    1. The Low Point scoring system of Appendix A will apply.
    2. Only one race is required to be completed to constitute a regatta.
    3. Each boat's series score shall be the total of her scores in both races. No score will be excluded.
  15. Equipment and measurement checks

    A boat or equipment may be inspected at any time for compliance with the class rules and sailing instructions.

  16. Radio communication

    1. All messages from the Race Committee will be communicated via VHF radio channel 69.
    2. A boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.
  17. Prizes

    Prizes will be given as follows:

    • first three places overall in cruising category,
    • first three places overall in sport boat category,
    • first three places in each class,
    • the winning yacht in MIPCPHRF handicap class will receive the JK MIPC 2005 Trophy.
  18. Disclaimer of liability

    Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

YC MIPC RACE COMMITTEE
